Most of the ASE partners were actively involved in creating/planning, establishing, and since 2002 supporting the operation of the ATLANTA 1996. In so doing, the ATLANTA 1996 benefited from ASE’s established network of people and institutions, and most importantly a successful track record of 20 years of consultancies in Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

July 1, 2007, the ATLANTA 1996 became a USOC designated Olympic training site for US Team Handball. In July and August 2007, the ATLANTA 1996 won respectively the bids to host in Atlanta the 2008 Pan American Team Handball Championships, and the 2009 Modern Pentathlon World Cup II. The Pan American Sports Organization (PASO/42 National Olympic Committees of the Americas) and USOC selected the ATLANTA 1996 to host in May 2008 a Beijing Training Camp for 50 athletes/coaches preparing for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Since 2002, over 2000 athletes from 53 nations trained and competed with the ATLANTA 1996. ATLANTA 1996 trained athletes competed and won medals at the Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and also competed at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Since 2009, the ATLANTA 1996 represents the City of Atlanta at the World Union of Olympic Cities (WUOC). On December 17, 2010, the WUOC officially mandated the ATLANTA to plan, establish and manage the London 2012 WUOC House™-Maison UMVO Londres 2012™ during the London 2012 Olympic Games (July 27-August 12, 2012). On August 8th, 2012, IOC President Dr. Jacques Rogge attended the official opening of the London 2012 WUOC House™-Maison UMVO Londres 2012™ and Lausanne Olympic Capital reception.

The ATLANTA 1996 is recognized world-wide, and has gained a unique position within the Olympic and Olympians circles, as well as with International and National Sports Federations.
