Afrique Santé & Environnement (ASE)
ASE is an international consulting firm headquartered in Atlanta, USA. Founded in 1992, ASE provides consulting services in the following areas: Global Health: Tropical medicine, HIV/AIDS, epidemiology, health information systems, malaria, maternal and child health (MCH), child survival, monitoring and evaluation, and emergency and disaster care. Environmental Issues: Wildlife conservation of endangered species. Sports Development: Sports medicine and testing, international and national competitions, and training for the Olympics.
Partnership
Founded in 1994, the Atlanta 1996 Centennial Foundation, Inc. (a non-profit organization) established a strategic partnership with ASE — working with national and international organizations, institutions, governments, and universities. From 1994 to 2012, the Foundation was known as Forging New Tomorrows, Inc. (FNT).
H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco has served as Honorary Chair of the Atlanta 1996 Centennial Foundation, Inc. — co-chaired by Ambassador Andrew Young and Dr. Marc-Daniel Gutekunst. The Foundation put into action the Post War Rehabilitation & Development Program (PWRDP) in Rwanda — a public health and environmental program designed by ASE in partnership with the Rwanda Ministry of Health and Rwanda Office of Tourism and National Parks (ORTPN).

ASE Milestones

2002
Since 2002, ASE’s consulting services in sports development have contributed to the successful operation of ATLANTA 1996, The Legacy Institution of the Atlanta 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, now a world recognized sports institution.
ATLANTA 1996 hosted the Atlanta Legacy Night at the Prince Jun Wang Fu Palace on August 14, 2008, during the Beijing Olympic Games. During Beijing, ATLANTA 1996 unveiled the proposed Atlanta DITC Sports Village™.
2009
Since 2009, ATLANTA 1996 has been a member of the World Union of Olympic Cities (WUOC) and represents the City of Atlanta at the WUOC.
In 2010, the WUOC officially mandated the ATLANTA 1996 create and manage the London 2012 WUOC House™ (July 27 – August 12, 2012) during the London 2012 Olympic Games. On August 8, 2012, IOC President Dr. Jacques Rogge attended the Lausanne Olympic Capital reception and the official opening of the London 2012 WUOC House.


2011
In 2011, Festus Mogae, former President of Botswana, and Michael O. Leavitt, former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary, led a high-level independent panel of experts who conducted a thorough review of The Global Fund’s financial safeguards. Both Dr. Marc-Daniel Gutekunst and Richard O. Butcher II from ASE were invited to join the seven Technical Support team members working with The Global Fund’s seven member high-level independent panel.
